I just wanted to share this book with all of you, and why it is so special to me. In 2014 I started my blog. Juni found some of the things I had written on here and asked if she could use some of the things I wrote on here for her book. I was happy to oblige. Shortly after I started my blog, I gave up writing. I came across her book and started to read it. I was reminded of all the reasons I began writing in the first place. I questioned the reasons why I stopped blogging and began to blog again. However I decided to make a few changes.
I decided I was no longer going to hide behind my pen name, (Victoria Christian; V.C. Christian.) I decided to quit living in fear. I feared rejection, but I also thought,
“Oh God, what if someone likes what I actually write?”
That is one of the reasons I wrote under a pen name. Writing under my real name would help me get over this fear.
Reading this book, inspired me to continue writing. This time I am determined and I am not giving up.
I wanted to send out a personal thank you to Juni for reminding me of all the reasons I picked up the pen in the first place. Thank you for inspiring me to write again!
Hey, this is so amazing. Thank you for sharing your story. I actually gave up blogging for a while and considered giving up writing too – I even wrote a post about it about an hour ago (how funny). But I remembered why I wrote in the first place, and I’m so glad this book helped you. May I ask why you stopped blogging?
And I’m so glad you’re using your real name now. That’s awesome. And definitely glad you’re writing/blogging again. Feel the fear and write anyway because you love it.
I will be looking at turning it into a print book so will keep you posted.
I quit writing for financial reasons. I had to work many hours, to help support my family. So I had no time to dedicate to it. Then I was ill, and so ill I could not work. (I still have bad days sometimes.) So I started to write again. My Husband also has been my biggest fan. He encorages me to write everyday. It was a blessing I got sick in some ways. It forced me to do what I love! I actually get nervous if I go a day without writing now.
Wow, so glad you’re writing again and doing what you love. A blessing in disguise. I hope you don’t mind, I shared this on my writer’s Facebook page. If you’re not okay with that, I can take it down. But just wanted to thank you once again for sharing this. You never know how or if your words are making an impact unless people actually say something. If I never hear anything I could think this book wasn’t helping anyone and there’s no point having it published, but it’s so great that it spoke to you in the way I hoped it would speak to people.
Yes by all means please share! I would love others people to see your book and be inspired to write. I would like to support you as well because I believe in what you are doing.
Thank you! It means a lot. Also, you and another contributor have inspired me to get cracking on a print version of this. Will keep you updated.
Thank, looking forward to purchasing it when it goes to print!
